In eternity past, the three co-equal, co-eternal Persons of the Triune Godhead entered into an everlasting agreement with one another in the Covenant of Redemption to save by grace certain members of Adam’s fallen race (Heb. 13:20-21).

At that time, God the Father elected certain members of Adam’s fallen race to salvation (Eph. 1:4; 2 Thess. 2:13; 1 Pet. 1:1-2), gave them as His love gift to the Lord Jesus Christ (John 6:37; 17:2, 6, 9,11-12, 24), ordained them to eternal life (Acts 2:47; 13:48; 18:9-10; John 10:16), recorded their names in the Lamb’s Book of Life (Rev. 13:8; 17:8), designated them as Christ’s sheep (John 10:26-29), and decreed that the Lord Jesus Christ would redeem them by shedding His blood and dying on the cross in their place for their sins (John 10:11,14-16; Acts 2:22-24; 4:26-28; 1 Pet. 1:18-20; Rev. 13:8).

In the course of time, all of the members of Adam’s fallen race for whom the Lord Jesus Christ shed His blood and died gladly and willingly come to Him for salvation (John 6:37) as they are regenerated by the will of God (John 1:13; Eph. 6:17; Jas. 1:18; 1 Pet. 1:23; 1 John 4:10) and converted by being given the gifts of repentance (Acts 5:31; 11:18; 2 Tim. 2:24-25) and faith (John 6:28-29; Acts 18:27; Rom. 3:22; 10:17; 12:3; Gal. 2:16,20; 5:22; Eph. 1:19; 2:8; Phil. 1:29; Heb. 12:2).

At the end of the way, all of these elect, redeemed members of Adam’s fallen race will be raised from the dead by the Lord Jesus Christ and given new, glorified, resurrected bodies like unto His body (John 5:28-29; 6:44; Rom. 8:28-30; 1 Cor. 15; 1 John 3:1-2). The Covenant of Redemption will be fulfilled without fail because God is absolutely sovereign and cannot be defeated by anyone at all (Job 23:13; Ps. 115:3; 135:6; Prov. 19:21; Isa. 46:9-10; Dan. 4:34-35; Rom. 9:11-23).
